Poetry Action

I took part in a strange poetry reading with around 20 other poets in Swansea Indoor Market, on September 28th.

Strange because, instead of taking turns, we all read at the same time.

Part of the Chinese-Swansea arts project ‘Let’s see what happens’, we were recreating a similar happening that had taken place in China.

The result: an intriguing din, a volume of poetry, rhyme and rhythm merging and mixing in a cacophonous five minutes.

And then we left the Chinese tea pavilion, stood in another line between the butchers and the fishmongers, and did it all again.

The tea ceremony afterwards was lovely.
